Different OSes running the same app with singular codebases, but with adaptive UIs is Apple's end goal. Twitter stopped development of their macOS app in Feb 2018, but because of Catalyst, its back on macOS, and better than than Twitter's current webapp.Ĭatalyst doesn't currently work macOS -> iPadOS. I kinda saw Catalina and iPadOS as absolute must haves anyway. Well, I do development as well, so it was kind of a must for me, but. Figured I'd mention the finding in case someone else has Soundflower and trying to troubleshoot some random system failures. I should've looked before I removed it, but I haven't used it in awhile anyway so it wasn't a big deal to uninstall. I don't recall which version I had installed. I removed Soundflower completely and it's all good now. I read the system errors and that was mentioned every time. One problem I had that was causing shutdowns and system error messages, etc.
SOUNDFLOWER CATALINA SOFTWARE
The 32bit software I still had installed was mostly pretty old and nothing I use anyway. I don't recall the minimum processor you need, but if your mac is older than a couple years, you're not likely going to get the new sidecar feature. but that swanky few sidecar feature ONLY works if you have one of the newer Macs. I updated to Catalina and wanted to share a couple bits with the group.įirst off, I didn't realize this. Last year I did a restore on the same phone from a desktop backup, it took around 30 minutes. I have a 256GB iPad, do the math how long that would take.
SOUNDFLOWER CATALINA DOWNLOAD
It took 4 hours for the initial stage to complete, then it took over 24 hours to download all the apps. an iCloud backup with servers on another continent: I did an erase and restore on my 16GB iPhone from iCloud the other week. To illustrate how much of a difference it is to have a local backup vs. The only thing I’m missing is the ability to do backups of my (iOS 13) iPhone and iPad onto the desktop and that’s only because Apple stopped allowing that. So until they force me to update, everything stays like it is. I don’t care about the new emoji and maps improvements, I want a rock solid system that runs my apps right. It’s not like I’m missing out on anything, macOS hasn’t had actual improvements relevant to my workflow since they gave Finder the ”Folders on top” option.
SOUNDFLOWER CATALINA PRO
My home desktop is a Mac Pro 2008, so that’s obviously not getting updated. I’m on High Sierra and apart from the occasional BSOD on boot, it’s running fine.
